ADB Internship Program

Asian Development Bank advertises internship assignments twice a year and welcome motivated, open-minded, and self-directed individuals to apply. The ADB internship is a fully funded for international students. Interested candidates from ADB member countries are eligible to apply for the internship program.

The ADB internship will be held for 8 weeks, start in June 2021. The Internship Program is a project-oriented learning opportunity for graduate students to gain experience through research assignments based on ADB’s current operational needs.

Eligible Criteria

Internship candidates must:

  • be enrolled in a Master’s or PhD-level program at a school in one of the ADB member nations, both prior to and after the internship assignment
  • be engaged in academic study in a filed directly related to ADB’s work
  • be a national of one of ADB’s members
  • posses an excellent command of English
  • have professional experience relevant to the assignment

Selection Process

  • ADB announces the assignments on the website and candidate choose assignment of interest
  • Candidate apply through ACES, prepare for their CVs and answer the easy questions.
  • All documents(CV and essay) are uploaded to ACES to complete application.
  • Application submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
  • To avoid error in submission, applicants are advised not to wait until the last day of the application period in submitting their internship applications.
  • ADB evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirement, relevance of academic study and work experience; and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work. ADB also considers institutional representation, gender, and nationality balance in the over-all intern selection process.

Financial Coverage

ADB provides a limited amount to cover part of the airfare travel cost should air travel be necessary between the internship location and the authorized point of origin (i.e. school location).

Stipend is also provided to all interns according to the location of internships up to 56 calendar days.

International Summer Internship Turkey 2020 (Fully Funded)

Overview:

International Local Authorities Internship Program is an international internship program annually organized by Union of Municipalities of Turkey (UMT) since 2012 with the aim of providing local governance training to the participants through instructions, practical examples and field visits including social activities and trips to various cities in Turkey. Since the first program, LOCALINTERNational has been providing an international training environment to a wide range of participants from European, Asian and Middle Eastern countries to learn, socialize and see the good practices along with the examples of municipal work.

This year, LOCALINTERNational 2020 will take place between 09-19 August with the participation of new graduates and last year students of universities. As the previous ones the program will facilitate trainings, field visits and social-cultural activities for future local leaders. Our Union looks forward to hosting valuable young participants and to provide them with a beneficial local governance experience.

National Council Of Urban Health 2020 (fully funded)

Urban American Indian/Alaska Native youth suffer higher rates of depression, which can be attributed to isolation from tribal lands and identity, lack of adequate mental health care, and financial instability. They are often geographically dispersed and disconnected from other urban AI/AN youth. Overcome with a high prevalence of alcoholism, and increased risk for suicide and mental health issues, the need for better systems of care and improved community capacity to support urban AI/AN youth is a high priority.

Through the development of a National Urban Indian Youth and Young Adult Advisory Council, NCUIH seeks to develop a community-driven comprehensive urban youth suicide and substance abuse response plan for urban Indian communities to provide prevention and recovery support to AI/AN young people under 24 years of age.

The NCUIH Youth Advisory Council will promote peer level awareness and support for youth and young adult AI/ANs living in urban areas. Youth Council members will promote awareness of substance misuse, trauma, suicide prevention, and mental health among peers on a local and national level.

  • NCUIH expects that youth and young adults selected for the National Youth Advisory Council will commit to a 12-month term beginning June 1st, 2020, and ending May 31st, 2021.

What is Global Intern Program?

Curatorial Internship Program 2020 in Canada ( Monthly Stipend 2500 CAD)

What is Curatorial Internships?

The Curatorial Internship Program is designed to share the CCA’s expertise with students and young professionals in architecture, the design disciplines, the arts, the humanities, and cultural studies who are interested in exploring editorial and curatorial work in architecture. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to become acquainted with the CCA’s curatorial approach—in particular its collection, exhibitions, editorial projects, and research programs—through a nine-month internship in Montréal beginning in the fall of 2020.

Benefits:

  • The program provides a monthly stipend of CA$ 2,500 over a period of nine months, calculated to defray costs of living in Montréal (subject to the income tax laws of Canada and Québec if applicable). The languages in use at the CCA are English and French. The internship is non-renewable.
  • Under the guidance of the Chief Curator, the interns will collaborate in the research for and preparation of exhibitions, publications, educational initiatives, public programs, and communications and collection activities.

Selections:

The CCA will select the interns and will notify all applicants by the end of April 2020. The CCA will select the candidates according to their curricula, the relevance of their critical thinking about architecture, and their intended trajectory in the fields of curating and publishing.

The internship will be effective only after the recipient has obtained all authorizations from the immigration authorities of both Quebec and Canada required in order to be legally entitled to conduct the internship in Canada.
