As the country undergoes rapid transformation, the Global Summit will bring together young women from the country and from around the world to help guide this transformation.

What’s it like to travel to Saudi Arabia?

Saudi Arabia is a safe country to visit; day-to-say security issues such as theft, muggings, kidnappings, etc. are very rare. G(irls)20 will secure visas for all delegates to attend the Summit. While in Saudi Arabia, the G(irls)20 delegation will always be on the same grounds, and all accommodations and venues will be comfortable and safe. Women in Saudi Arabia dress modestly (covered arms and legs, avoiding tight clothing). Most women in Saudi Arabia also wear an abaya. Delegates will not be required to wear an abaya or head covering, but may choose to do so if they are more comfortable.

Are all religions and other minorities welcome in Saudi Arabia?

G(irls)20 prioritises inclusion; delegates from all religious backgrounds, including Christian, Jewish, Sunni, Shia and other Muslim sects, and other religions are welcome and will feel safe and comfortable in Saudi Arabia.

• All applicants will be informed whether or not they are successful in May 2020.

How many applications do you receive?

• We receive over 1,500 applications from around the globe for these delegate positions.

Why are there 28 delegates but it is called G(irls)20?

• We select one young woman from each G20 country, but over the years have identified the critical need to invite voices from underrepresented countries and regions. We also align to some guest countries of the G20 Presidency.

• There will be a total of 28 delegates at the 2020 Summit.

Have there been Summits before?

The first G(irls)20 Summit occurred in Toronto in 2010. Since then we have run Summits around the world with an alumnae of over 200 young women! This year will be our 11th annual G(irls)20 Summit.

How is the Summit funded?
