Overview

The Cambridge MBA is one of the world’s leading business programmes, taught at one of the world’s most prestigious universities.

Scholarship recipients become members of Pembroke College, the third oldest and one of the most highly regarded colleges.

The Boustany MBA Cambridge Scholarship is granted once every two years for a one year course at Cambridge University, Judge Business School.

Benifits

The Scholarship offers the following:
• Financial aid amounting to £23,000 towards tuition fees
• Travel and accommodation expenses related to the internship.

The next Scholarship will be awarded for the class commencing Autumn 2020.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have an excellent academic background and show considerable promise. Although the Scholarship can be awarded to candidates of any nation, priority will be given to candidates of Lebanese descent.
  • Candidates may apply for the Scholarship only after receiving an offer of admission from the Cambridge MBA program.

Through the Young Health Programme (YHP), AstraZeneca works to engage and empower young people with information so that they can make healthy choices today that will lead to better health later in life. Youth are at the heart of YHP’s activities providing young people with a powerful voice in identifying their own health needs as well as planning and delivering solutions.
This year, AstraZeneca is collaborating with One Young World to offer 21 scholarships to inspiring young leaders to attend the One Young World Summit 2020 in Munich, Germany. In addition to attending the Summit, YHP scholars will participate in a pre-Summit skills-building workshop to meet the delegation, share information about their background and get prepared for what will be an incredible experience in Munich.

WHAT DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDE?

  • Access to the One Young World Summit 2020 in Munich.
  • Access to an exclusive Youth Health Programme pre-Summit workshop.
  • Hotel accommodation in Munich on a shared basis between 12 and 17 (inclusive) October, 2020.
  • Return air or rail travel for scholars living outside of Germany.
  • Catering which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner between 12 and 17 October.
  • Ground transportation between Summit venues in Munich.
  • Discretionary funds to cover reasonable out of pocket expenses connected with getting to and from the Summit. These can be claimed by Scholars after the Summit.
  • Reimbursement of Schengen visa application fee (if applicable).
  • Reimbursement of reasonable out of pocket expenses connected with travelling to and from the Summit.

    • Please note that scholars will be required to pay the visa application and insurance fees themselves. They will then be able to apply for a reimbursment from One Young World. Expenses will be reimbursed within three months of the Summit.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

This scholarship is intended for young leaders who are aged 18 – 30 and are able to demonstrate:

  • Evidenced commitment to addressing health and wellbeing in a local, national or global community, with a specific focus on child and adolescent health and/or disease prevention and/or social determinants of health programming.
  • Leadership ability in championing and galvanising stakeholders around their chosen cause or issue.
  • A capacity for innovation and problem solving that is entrepreneurial and values-driven.
  • Concern for local and global issues.
  • Experience of working towards a shared goal through teamwork and collaboration.

UNAOC 2020 FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME

Background

he United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) is pleased to announce its UNAOC Fellowship Program 2020. The United Nations fellowship is open to participants between 25 to 35 years old, from the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and North America, with a strong interest in intercultural exchanges.

To be selected for the UN Fellowships, candidates must be able to present professional achievements in the fields of media, social media, and peacebuilding, with knowledge of the UN system. The Call will lead to the selection of a group of young leaders from Europe, North-America (EUNA) on one end, and a group of young leaders from the Middle East and North-Africa (MENA) on the other end. Participants from each geographic area will travel to their counterparts’ region for two weeks.

Vision

The goal of the United Nations Fellowship 2020 is to challenge perceptions and deconstruct stereotypes by providing participants with first-hand exposure to cultural diversity. In every country they visit, UNAOC Fellows will interact with a wide range of local stakeholders. While exploring opportunities for intercultural collaboration, Fellows will also discuss and exchange ideas on how to use media and information technology to support the global community and international organizations in their work toward sustainable peace and conflict prevention.

Eligibility Criteria

 To be eligible as EUNA candidates, applicants must be:

  • Nationals from the United States, Canada, or a country member of the Council of Europe (plus Belarus)
  • Born between January 1st 1985 and December 31st 1995
  • Fluent in English
  • Working directly in the fields of media and/or peace-building, with strong social media proficiency and strong knowledge of the UN and its global agenda.
  • In possession of a passport valid at least 3 months beyond July 2020 (October 1st 2020 and beyond)
  • Must not have participated in any of UNAOC program before.

 To be eligible as MENA candidates, applicants must be:

  • Nationals from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, State of Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, or Yemen.
  • Born between January 1st 1985 and December 31st 1995
  • Fluent in English
  • Working directly in the fields of media and/or peace-building, with strong social media proficiency and strong knowledge of the UN and its global agenda.
  • In possession of a passport valid at least 6 months beyond September 2020 (March 1st 2021 and beyond)
  • Must not have participated in any of UNAOC programmes before.

The jury will only evaluate applications meeting all of the above-mentioned criteria.

Evaluation and Selection 

Candidates meeting all the eligibility criteria will have their application reviewed by a jury composed of UNAOC staff, experts working in the fields of media, social media, peace-building and conflict prevention, with a strong knowledge of the UN system.

The jury will be looking for candidates with strong interest in learning more about other cultures and societies. To be selected, participants should also express their motivation in developing cross-cultural collaboration with peers and partners from different countries.

The jury will also be assessing professional accomplishment in the fields of media and peace-building and will look for applicants with a potential in shaping opinion and taking strong initiatives within their community.

The jury will also make sure that the final selection is:

  • Gender balanced
  • Region balanced between participants from North America, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East
  • Limited to two participants per country
  • Professionally balanced with no more than a third of participants working in the same sector or industry.

To preserve the above-mentioned balance and to ensure the quality and diversity of participants, the selection jury will select the next highest scoring candidate to replace the lowest scoring redundant candidate.
