Help us to develop a wellbeing toolkit for social entrepreneurs
We believe that to create truly sustainable impactful businesses, we need to nurture sustainable founders, who look after their own health, as much as their businesses. But how can we find balance between personal wellbeing and our work? 

We are looking for 24 young entrepreneurs (12 from Cambodia, 12 from Malaysia) running social enterprises to join us for a two-day workshop in Malaysia to design a social entrepreneurship toolkit on wellbeing for young entrepreneurs.

For two days, we’ll reflect on what it means to practice wellbeing as a founder, and how to balance work and health. You’ll hear from keynote speakers on wellbeing, network with Malaysian and Cambodian social entrepreneurs, share on your own wellbeing as a founder, and finally, contribute to the development of the wellbeing toolkit, which has the potential to impact even more entrepreneurs as well as to support your own wellbeing in the long term.

Why Should You Join?

  • Learn more about well being as an entrepreneur and share your own challenges in a safe space.
  • Build networks with Cambodian and Malaysian founders and create opportunities for collaboration. 
  • Contribute to developing a toolkit for entrepreneurs to improve wellbeing for fellow founders.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Young entrepreneurs aged 18-35 who have been operating their business for more than 1 year.
  • Cambodian or Malaysian nationality 
  • Founders/Co-founders of social enterprises or social impact startups
  • Business has a positive social or environmental impact.
  • Available to attend a full two-day workshop to co-create the toolkit as well as engage in follow up activities.
  • Entrepreneurs who are passionate about wellbeing and mental/physical health.

The Details:

  • The workshop will be held in Malaysia on April 25th & 26th 2020. You must be able to attend the whole weekend.

  • Cambodian participants will have their transport, accommodation, food costs are covered 100% by this program
  • Malaysian participants who are travelling from outside of Klang Valley will have their transport and accommodation (if applicable) costs covered

Curatorial Internship Program 2020 in Canada ( Monthly Stipend 2500 CAD)

What is Curatorial Internships?

The Curatorial Internship Program is designed to share the CCA’s expertise with students and young professionals in architecture, the design disciplines, the arts, the humanities, and cultural studies who are interested in exploring editorial and curatorial work in architecture. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to become acquainted with the CCA’s curatorial approach—in particular its collection, exhibitions, editorial projects, and research programs—through a nine-month internship in Montréal beginning in the fall of 2020.

Benefits:

  • The program provides a monthly stipend of CA$ 2,500 over a period of nine months, calculated to defray costs of living in Montréal (subject to the income tax laws of Canada and Québec if applicable). The languages in use at the CCA are English and French. The internship is non-renewable.
  • Under the guidance of the Chief Curator, the interns will collaborate in the research for and preparation of exhibitions, publications, educational initiatives, public programs, and communications and collection activities.

Requirements:

  • Students and young professionals born on or after 1 January 1990
  • We expect interns to have completed or be enrolled in a university-level program.
  • Applications should be submitted through the CCA online application portal and consist of the 2 following documents, in English or in French, in PDF format (5MB maximum for each file):
    • A critical analysis of 750 to 1,000 words of a CCA collection object, article, event or exhibition
    •  A curriculum vitae detailing education, professional experience, working languages, and any other relevant information.

Selections:

The CCA will select the interns and will notify all applicants by the end of April 2020. The CCA will select the candidates according to their curricula, the relevance of their critical thinking about architecture, and their intended trajectory in the fields of curating and publishing.

The internship will be effective only after the recipient has obtained all authorizations from the immigration authorities of both Quebec and Canada required in order to be legally entitled to conduct the internship in Canada.

Program Eligibility

THINK Green, SAVE Energy the new practical energy efficiency seminar is designed to provide beyond the studies insights into the professional and potential working environment. 5th AWHF Youth Forum 2020 in South Africa (Fully Funded)

What is 5th AWHF?

5Th AWHF refers to 5th African World Heritage Youth Forum, a capacity building exercise focusing on Youth, Entrepreneurship and Heritage Sustainability in Africa. The Forum places an emphasis on entrepreneurship skills development towards promoting and increasing African youth participation in the stewardship and promotion of World Heritage in Africa in a creative and innovative approach. 

Purpose of 5th AWHF:

  • Empower African youth through training and mentor-ship that will equip them with innovative and evaluation, business management, financial resources mobilization, financial sustainability and innovation, entrepreneurial mindset skills, communication and networking).
  • Mobilize young people and harness youth creativity and innovation in World Heritage conservation and sustainable development efforts in Africa.
  • Provide an opportune platform for the creation of networks, exchange of knowledge, sharing of experience and success stories between and among the youth across Africa.
  • Raise youth awareness and appreciation of issues and threats facing Africa’s heritage while stimulating their involvement in entrepreneurship activities that could bring direct economic benefits to local communities living in or around World Heritage properties in Africa.
  • Gather young people from different backgrounds and encourage them to become responsible guardians and ambassadors of World Heritage across Africa.
  • Encourage youth to improve their innovation and creative capacities in developing sustainable initiatives in their countries, which take into account the present-day issues and Aspirations of the African Union Agenda 2063 and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Eligibility:

Thirty-five (35) young entrepreneurs from all African countries will be selected for the forum. Applicants must fulfil all of the following requirements:

  • African citizen between the ages: 18 – 35
  • Minimum requirements: a post-secondary certified training and/or qualification;
  • Fluency in English (being the working language of the Forum) and ability to communicate in at least one of the other three official languages of the African Union (French, Portuguese and Arabic);
  • Personal attributes: motivated, active and driven individuals interested in learning how to assess the viability, feasibility, and desirability of new business ideas while engaging in a World Heritage network of young Africans eager to implement the outcomes of the forum in their home countries.
  • Professional attributes:
    • Social entrepreneurs, project holders or anyone looking to start a social enterprise in need of assistance to implementing their projects.
    • Entrepreneurs and business owners who need to find new ways to create value in the market while championing sustainable conservation of promotion of Africa’s heritage.
    • Acquainted with online media and digital platforms (social media e.g. Snapchat, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, digital platforms, etc.).
    • Bearers of ideas from different backgrounds and fields bringing innovative solutions to deal with the challenges that many African countries meet in safeguarding African heritage.
  • Note: Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Benefits:

  • The eight-day Forum will consist of interactive oral presentations from youth participants and experts from different fields combined with hands-on activities, group sessions and discussions, as well as guided visits to Robben Island World Heritage site.
  • Participants will gain entrepreneurship knowledge and skills in business opportunity identification and evaluation, business management, financial resources mobilization for business start-ups and/or expansion, entrepreneurial mindset skills, communication and networking, business plan development and sustainability of World Heritage. Participants will also benefit from mentorship and technical support from the organizers of the Forum.
  • The results of the Forum will be presented on the 5th of May as part of the celebration of African World Heritage Day and during the 44th session of the World Heritage Committee in July 2020.
  • The costs for the forum participation (return airfare, accommodation, meals, local transportation in South Africa) will be covered by AWHF, ICCROM and RIM. Selected participants shall meet their own local costs in the country of origin, as well as visa application costs to enter the Republic of South Africa.

KAS-Female Legal Youth Network 2020

To support young ambitious women in the legal sector of Cambodia Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Cambodia set up the KAS Female-Legal-Youth Network (KAS-FLY Network). The network will connect a group of high potential law students and young professionals with legal experts and support the development of professional and personal skills which are crucial for the future endeavour in the legal sector.

Call for Application

Applications are now open for potential female students, and young professionals in legal sector in Cambodia. Interested applicants are invited to submit their resume and a motivation letter through online application by February 24, 2020. Significant weight will be given to those applicants who demonstrate commitment and willingness to participate in the network though out one-year period, and their experiences in project management preferably in legal field in Cambodia.

  • Have basic knowledge and experience in project management ideally in the field of law
  • Demonstrate a good teamwork and a problem solving skill

In addition, include any important message that you might wish to tell your present self.

Guidelines:

  1. Essays may be submitted by anyone up to 25 years old (as of June 15, 2020) in one of the following age categories: a) Children (ages up to 14) b) Youth (ages 15 – 25)

  4. Teachers and youth directors may submit a collection of essays from their class or group. Please enclose a list of participants’ names, ages and the name and contact information of the submitting teacher or director. * Entries missing any of the above information will not be considered. * Only one entry per person is accepted. *A cover page template is available to download. You may also create your own cover page with all items (1)-(12) above. * We are unable to confirm receipt of essays.
  5. Essays must be original and unpublished. Plagiarized entries will be rejected.
  6. Essays must be written by one person. Co-authored essays are not accepted.
  7. Copyright of the essays entered will be assigned to the organizer.

Awards:

The following awards will be given in the Children’s category and Youth category respectively:

  • 1st Prize: Certificate, a prize of 100,000 Yen (approx. US$900 as of Feb. 2020)  (1 entrant)
  • 2nd Prize: Certificate, a prize of 50,000 Yen (approx. US$450 as of Feb. 2020) and gift (2 entrants)
  • 3rd Prize: Certificate and gift (5 Entrants)
  • Honorable Mention: Certificate and gift (25 entrants)

* 1st prize winners will be invited to the award ceremony to be held in Tokyo, Japan in November 2020 and will receive the Minister of Education Award. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer.)
* Additional awards (Recognition for Effort, Best School Award, School Incentive Award) will be given
if applicable.
* All prize winners will be announced on October 31, 2020 (Japan time) on this website. Certificates and gifts will be mailed to the winners in December 2020.
* We are unable to answer individual inquiries concerning contest results.
